The course aims to incorporate linguistic paradigms into social issues and apply research methods and outcomes to interpreting the realities of modern-day life. It helps a student of linguistics to find practical applications of acquired knowledge and competencies in a broad variety of professional perspectives.The course extends creative and critical skills, improves the stylistic and interpretative as well as hermeneutic and semiotic competencies of students, reaching out to cognitive, psycholinguistics, sociolinguistic paradigms of philology.The course requires basic knowledge of linguistics, in particular, a profound understanding of English grammar, lexical, syntactic and stylistic features of oral and written language.

Мета курсу

The course teaches how to implement empirical and/or linguistic steps of research methodology, and gives hands-on experience in collecting, interpreting and sorting evidence, convert the information into data for clear and consistent outcomes and proven results.

Програмні результати навчання

The learners' outcomes include the ability to produce a productive hypothesis, to focus on a research issue, to select corresponding methodologies, to outline consecutive steps, to predict research outcomes, to sort out received data, to interpret and explain the results of research.
